NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The USA South Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards today, listing Christopher Newport freshman center Camry Green as the women's basketball Rookie of the Week. Green helped lead the Captains to a 2-0 mark in USA South action, extending the team's winning streak to eight games.

In wins over Shenandoah at home and Peace on the road, Green nearly averaged a double-double for the week. She poured in 10.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game, despite limited minutes. The Richmond native grabbed nine rebounds with nine points against the Hornets, followed by a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double at Peace.

Green played in just 18.5 minutes per game this week, and was 7-for-13 from the field. She added a 7-for-8 performance from the free-throw line for good measure while helping the Captains extend the USA South unbeaten streak to seven games.
