Adrin Diggs has received another pre-season honor. Diggs (Smithfield, Va.), who was named to the 2013 D3 Senior Classic Preseason All-American team, was selected to the d3proday.com Third Team All-American squad on Monday.
D3proday.com is the nation's first and only Division III combine for seniors after the regular season. The pre-season All-Americans represent the best in the nation. The selection board is made up of pro scouts, NFL and CFL agents and former NFL coaches and players.
Diggs has been a defensive stalwart for the Captains since joining the squad in 2007. The USA South Rookie of the Year that season, he has also been a First Team All-USA South selection in both his sophomore and junior seasons. Diggs' postseason accolades also reached the All-State level for the past two seasons, as he led the Captains in tackles both seasons. He posted a career-high 90 tackles in 2009, including 39 solo and nine for a loss of yards. He ranked third in the USA South in total tackles and was among the league's top ten in total tackles for a loss.
Last season, over 50 top Division III players, including six All-Americans and 28 all-conference players, worked out at the East Preps Regional Combine in New Jersey. This year, regional combines are set for Philadelphia, Richmond, Chicago and Los Angeles. The Top 100 will compete in a nationally televised combine event.
Diggs and the Captains opened pre-season camp last Wednesday. CNU will kick off the 2010 season, the program's 10th, on September 4th against 3rd-ranked Wesley College. CNU will host the Wolverines at 1:00 p.m. at POMOCO Stadium.
