NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - A total of four CNU women's tennis players were named to the all-USA South squad that was announced Thursday.
Morgan Huff and
Kim Morrissett were both chosen to the second team. Huff, a freshman from Lynchburg, Va., played all season at No. 1 and posted an 11-8 record. Morrissett, a freshman from Midlothian, Va., was primarily CNU's No. 3 singles player and had a 15-1 record.
Marion Gloor and
Erin Spinks were both named honorable mention. Gloor is a freshman from Switzerland and played at No. 2 all season with an 8-7 record. Spinks, a freshman from Winchester, Va., was unbeaten for the season at 17-0. She was 12-0 at No. 4, but also won four matches at No. 3 and another at No. 2.
CNU, which is 17-2, opens play in the USA South Tournament Friday at 9 a.m. against Shenandoah.
