STAUNTON, VA - Christopher Newport's women's tennis team remained unbeaten with a 9-0 victory Wednesday at USA South rival Mary Baldwin.
Morgan Huff and
Marion Gloor earned an 8-0 shutout at No. 1 doubles, and they were joined in victory by the No. 2 team of
Erin Spinks-Lauren Kelly and the No. 3 tandem of
Dani Cribb-Melisande Downs.
In singles, CNU won each match in straight sets, including Gloor's 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2, as the Captains increased their winning streak to 11 matches.
Huff, Spinks, Kelly, Cribb and Downs also prevailed, as did
Stephanie Peed in an exhibition.
The Captains return home to face Peace at 1 p.m. Saturday and will play defending conference champion Meredith at noon Sunday.
