NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The honors keep piling up for CNU's
Chelsie Schweers who has been named South Region Player of the Year by d3hoops.com for the second straight year.
Schweers led CNU to the greatest season in school history with a 30-1 record and spot in the NCAA Sweet 16. She averaged 24.5 points per game and led the nation in three-point shooting most of the year.
She completed her junior season with 1,999 points, and trails CNU's all-time leading scorer, Karen Barefoot, by just 74 points.
Schweers had already been named a regional All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, putting her in line for both that group's, and d3hoops.com's All-America teams.
