NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Off to the best start in school history with a10-0 record, the CNU women have cracked the national rankings, moving into the No. 24 spot in the weekly poll by USA Today/ESPN.
The Captains scored two big wins last week, knocking off Randolph-Macon, which had been ranked No. 20 in the USA Today/ESPN poll, and No. 24 by d3hoops.com, as well as Salisbury, which entered the Freeman Center with a 5-2 record. CNU defeated Randolph-Macon, 78-67, and crushed the Seagulls, 87-62. No team has yet scored more than 67 points against CNU.
The Captains return to USA South play, where they hold a 3-0 record, when they travel to Shenandoah for a 5:30 game Wednesday.
