NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The CNU women's basketball team has advanced in the two national polls, and junior Chelsie Schweers has been honored nationally yet again.

The Captains improved to No. 11 in the USA Today/ESPN poll and No. 14 in the d3hoops.com poll, after winning two USA South contests last weekend over Methodist and Greensboro.

Meanwhile Schweers, who averaged 37.5 points in the two games and shot 27-41 from the floor and 14-23 on three-pointers, was again named to the d3hoops.com Team of the Week. That team honors five players nationally for their performance the previous week. She is now second in the nation in scoring with a 24.6 average.
