NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Averaging 37.5 points per game during Christopher Newport's two USA South victories over the weekend, Chelsie Schweers has been named conference Player of the Week again.

Schweers poured in 40 points against Methodist Friday and 35 in Sunday's game with Greensboro. In the process she became the second leading scorer in CNU history.

In the two games she shot 27-41 (.659) from the floor including 14-23 (.609) on three-pointers. She also averaged 6.0 rebounds and 5.5 steals.

The Captains will be back in action Wednesday night at 5:30 hosting Mary Baldwin at the Freeman Center.
