NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The Christopher Newport Men's soccer team improved to 7-1 in their 2009 season as they defeated Piedmont 2-1 Sunday afternoon in Georgia.
 
   The Captains fell behind early 1-0 in the 16th minute as Piedmont senior Jorge Pradilla scored off a Jeremy Stille pass.

   The Captains would answer with goals in the 27th and 28th minutes by Clif Kipper and Karl Kummer. Kipper notched his team leading sixth goal of the year while Kummer tallied his second.

  The Captains will return to action on Wednesday night at 7pm when they host cross-water rival Virginia Wesleyan.
