Olson Sets Records, Wins Tom Kinder Memorial Golf Tournament

  BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Christopher Newport's Chris Olson took medal honors Sunday at the Tom Kinder Memorial Golf Tournament by firing a 36-total 136, eight under par.


  In the process he shattered the school tournament record of 141 set by two other players. He fired rounds of 70 and 66, with the latter equaling Matt Hopkins' school 18-hole mark.


  As a team the Captains took second place with a 586 total, just two shots behind Bridgewater.


  Ben Culotta had a 74-73—146 and placed sixth individually, while Chris Mortin tied for 11th at 78-72—150.
