ASHLAND, Va. --
Adding a fitting punctuation mark to his standout career, Rory Keverline will represent the Christopher Newport men's lacrosse program in the USILA Senior All-Star Game, which will be held on Friday at Randolph-Macon's Day Field in Ashland, Virginia.

The prestigious event is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. For those fans unable to attend the contest, live stats and a video stream of the action will be available at RMCAthletics.com. Direct links can be found at the top of this release.

Keverline will be the first Captain to take part in the All-Star Game since Drew Cornell competed in the 2019 contest. Overall, he is just the fifth CNU standout to represent the program in the event, joining Cornell, Matt Hayden (2017), Matt Crist (2018), and Jake O'Connell (2018).

The All-Star appearance comes on the heels of an award-winning senior season for the Mount Vernon, Maine native. Previously, Keverline was celebrated as USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American after earning All-League nods from the Coastal Lacrosse Conference.

During his final year with the Captains, he ranked fourth on the team with 26 caused turnovers. That equaled the most by a short-stick defensive midfielder in program history, tying the standard set by current assistant coach and former All-American Campbell Pozin in 2019. Keverline also established a new career-high with 14 ground balls during the spring.

A steady contributor, he had at least one takeaway in 15 of his appearances, including the final 11 games of the year. Especially dominant in the postseason, he set a new career-high with three strips against No. 5 Salisbury in the Coastal Lacrosse Conference Championship on May 3 before matching that performance in the third round of the NCAA Tournament against No. 13 Washington and Lee on May 10.

Overall, Keverline recorded at least two caused turnovers in nine games, including six battles against nationally-ranked competition.

Aided by Keverline's efforts, Christopher Newport finished the season ranked second in the nation in takeaways-per-game (15.55), fifth in clearing percentage (.904), and 10th in ground balls (839). Eventually, the Captains advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the sixth straight year while compiling an 18-4 record.

Keverline finished his time in Newport News with 40 career appearances and 36 caused turnovers. His 0.90 takeaways-per-game rate stands as the highest by a short-stick defensive midfielder in school history.

Prior to his two-year stretch with the Captains, Keverline opened his career at Merrimack from 2022-24.
