Amy Wampler finished fifth with a time of 22:59.56 in the women's 6K run.

Womens Cross Country Finishes 10th, Men Place 11th At Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational

CARLISLE, PA – Christopher Newport's women's cross country squad finished 10th while the men's team finished 11th at the Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational Saturday.

 

The meet included a men's 4K and 8K race and a women's 4K and 6K run and the event was totaled to get the final standings.

 

Johns Hopkins finished first on the women's side. Messiah was second, Dickinson finished third, Bucknell was fourth and Millersville was fifth.

 

 In the 4K run, Dira Hansen finished 32nd overall with a time of 15:39.55, Brooke Rowe was 90th in 16:49.80, Jade Zaharoff placed 99th with a time of 17:05.66. Kim Wenz was 104th in 17:12.38 and Rosie Loftus was 124th with a time of 17:38.55.

 

Amy Wampler finished fifth overall in the women's 6K run in 22:59.56. Megan Roberts was 30th with a time of 24:34.92, Edie Nault was 54th in 25:49.74, Beth Bartelmes (26:26.08) was 63rd while Stephanie Raddatz (26:28.81) placed 64th.

 

On the men's side, Dickinson won the event, followed by Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins, Millersville and Lynchburg round out the top five.

 

In the men's 4K run, David Woodson finished third with a time of 12:18.15. Jack Tierney placed 58th in 13:18.20, Kyle Oakes was 73rd in 13:28.37 while Josh Bowling was 104th with a time of 13:55.25. Paul Castonguay finished 147th in 14:53.75.

 

Corey Lofton finished 25th in 27:14.89 in the men's 8K run. Nate Huffman was 70th in 28:12.03, Andrew Johnson was 111th in 29:06.49, Will Kirk (136th) had a time of 29:58.42, Will Zak (30:35.96) was 147th, and Ed Wojtan finished 166th with a time of 32:03.29.

 

The Captains return to action next Saturday when they head to Salisbury, MD for the Dan Cathcart Invitational.
