One of the top big men in CNU program history, Terry Gray was a force defensively and a powerful offensive presence down low for the Captains. Gray finished his career as the all-time leader in blocked shots at CNU with 300, and still ranks 20th all-time in NCAA Division III in swats. He also ranks fifth all-time in career steals, with 158. On the offensive end, he moved up to 13th all-time in scoring and still ranks 18th with 1,201 career points. The 6-6 forward also finished up with 797 career rebounds, and still ranks sixth all-time at CNU in boards.

The Captains big man earned third team All-American honors following his senior campaign and was a first team All-Region (D3hoops.com) and All-District (NABC) selection as well. The 2003 Conference Player of the Year was a two-time first team All-Conference selection. He was a sophomore on the most successful team in program history, dancing deep into March and reaching the NCAA Elite Eight in 2001. Gray set a program record for steals in an NCAA Tournament game with five, and the Captains would go on to post a 25-4 record. In his career, the Captains finished with a program-record 97 wins paired with just 17 losses for a winning percentage of 85.1%. The Captains reached the NCAA Tournament all four years with two Sweet 16 appearances.
