Tamiko Patterson was an integral part of the richest era of track & field history at CNU. Her performance at the 1997 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships helped CNU claim its tenth national championship. She won a pair of national championships, becoming the fifth individual to win multiple national titles in program history, and remains one of just ten women in program history to accomplish that feat. Her national championships came in the Long Jump, with a distance of 18-2 1/2, and the Triple Jump, with a then-school record leap of 40-1/2. She also captured a third-place finish in the 55-meters with a 7.27 clocking, giving her three All-American honors in one championship performance. Her Indoor Triple Jump distance still ranks third all-time and her Outdoor Triple Jump is still a top five performance in CNU lore.
Tamiko captured two All-American honors in the 1995 Indoor National Championships, with a 3rd place finish in the Long Jump and 7th place effort in the Triple Jump; and she added her sixth and final All-American laurel with a 7th place finish in the Triple Jump during the 1995 Outdoor National Championships.
