The first player in program history to earn GCAA All-Region honors when he collected the recognition in 2010, Evans was also the first Captain to secure All-Conference honors in each of his four seasons as a star player for the CNU men's golf program. He earned honorable mention All-USA South honors as a freshman, second team as a sophomore and a pair of first team picks to finish out his career. A top player for the Captains' first-ever conference championship team in 2011, Evans helped lead the Captains to the NCAA Championship twice during his career. Following his senior campaign and a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Championship, Evans earned third team All-American honors, becoming the sixth men's golf All-American in program history.

Statistically, no CNU golfer has ever been as dominant as Joseph Evans, who concluded his career as the all-time leader in stroke average with a 74.89 average. He has played more rounds than any other Captain, with 83, and his name is littered across the Captains record book. He recorded five sub-70 rounds during his career, including a career best 66 at the Oglethorpe Invitational in his senior year. Evans also owns two of the Captains' all-time low single-season averages and helped pave the road for CNU men's golf on the national level under the direction of head coach Jamie Coleman.
