Despite only playing two years as a member of the Captains, JoJo Chambers left a lasting mark on the storied Christopher Newport men's basketball program. In just two years, Chambers climbed all the way to eighth on the all-time scoring chart with 1,123 career points and still ranks 21st all-time. In terms of scoring average, JoJo still ranks second in his career with a 21.6 points per game average while still boasting two of the top ten marks in program history. Not just a scorer, JoJo averaged a double-double in his two years with the CNU, hauling in 530 rebounds in 52 career games for a 10.2 per game average. The 6-6 guard/forward shot over 50% for his career while knocking down over 83% of his shots from the foul-line, a mark that would be a program best with just 13 more attempts. He still ranks in the top ten in career blocks, with 106, and also averaged 2.7 assists per game during his tenure.
A second team All-American selection in 1995, Chambers also collected second team NABC All-District honors, and was a two-time first team All-Conference selection. He helped guide the Captains to a pair of Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (DIAC) Championships and into the NCAA Tournament.
