The first player to earn first team All-American honors in 25 years, Brian Lybert joined Hall of Famer Gerard Mosley on that exclusive list in his senior campaign. He also was just the second player in league history to earn Conference Player of the Year honors twice in his career and he was honored as an All-American in both years. After the second, he became the first player in program history to earn first team All-American honors twice in his career.

Stepping in as a starter from his very first game, Lybert pieced together one of the most decorated careers in CNU men's soccer history. A dominant force on the field, Lybert helped guide the Captains to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a pair of Elite Eight runs in 2008 and 2009. An exceptional facilitator, he appeared in 89 games and established a new program and league record, that still stands today, with 45 career assists. During his junior and senior years, he posted back-to-back 35-point campaigns with 21 goals and 28 assists while notching 7 game-winning goals. In the NCAA Tournament, Lybert put away a pair of goals, both gamewinners, and added 6 assists in 11 games.
