BRIAN JAEGER, from McLean, Va., is regarded as one of the top golf standouts in the history of the Captains program. He was a first team All-American, four-time All-Conference member, and three-time NCAA qualifier during his outstanding career at Christopher Newport from 2010 to 2013.
Jaeger became the first Christopher Newport male athlete to achieve All-American as well as Academic All-American status. He also is the only male recipient of the Don Scalf Award, presented each year by the USA South Athletic Conference for Academic and Athletic achievement.
Jaeger was just the second Captain in program history to qualify for NCAA play as an individual, and his 12th place finish earned him PING First Team All-American accolades, the first since 1994 for CNU. Jaeger broke a pair of school records his senior season, firing a low round record of 65 in the Camp LeJeune Invitational and concluding the season with a low season stroke average of 73.4.
