NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Director of Tennis
Eric Christiansen announced earlier today that the Christopher Newport tennis matches scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed until Thursday, March 14. Times for the matches against Washington College are yet to be determined as inclement weather has forced the adjustment to the schedule.
The CNU men's squad is off to a 3-4 start this season and is coming off its first shutout of the season, dispatching Drew University, 9-0, on Monday afternoon.
Robbie Wagner and
Will Sloan have led the Captains this spring, with four dual victories in singles play.
On the women's side,
Angela Stallman and
Jodi Noland each have five wins in duals, helping the Captains also start 3-4 as a team. In their last match, the CNU women edged out Berry College, 5-4, on a neutral court in Orlando, Florida.
Both Washington College teams have played just two matches so far this screen, with both opening the year 1-1.
