Three Captains Named to VaSID All-State Women's Tennis Team

Sarah Stafford, Marion Gloor pick up First Team honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Three Captains were named to the 2011-12 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Women's Tennis Teams, announced earlier this week. Sarah Stafford and Marion Gloor were each selected to the First Team and Kim Morrissett was named a Second Team selection.

Stafford picked up First Team honors after earning First Team All-Conference honors fro the second straight year. She posted a 12-8 record in singles and a 13-9 mark in doubles, playing primarily at the No. 1 position in duals this season.

Gloor was a Second Team All-Conference pick, finishing with an impressive 17-3 record in singles this season, including a 15-2 mark at No. 3 singles in duals. The career-best season gives her 38 singles victories over her first three seasons.

Finally, Morrissett, a Second Team All-Conference selection finished her junior campaign with a record of 50-12 in singles play. She is just eight wins shy of the career record at CNU.
