NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Junior goalkeeper
Justin Wolfe (Williamsburg, Va.) was named USA South Defensive Player of the Week after the first three games this season. The CNU keeper posted two shutouts and went 3-0-0, making five saves on the week.
Wolfe has a 0.33 goals against average after allowing just one goal. He has made five saves, posting an .833 save percentage in the three victories. He played every minute as the fifth-ranked Captains dropped Randolph-Macon, 4-0, Haverford College, 2-1, and Stockton College, 1-0.
The junior keeper now has 11 shutouts in his career, with an 18-3-4 (.800) career record.
CNU will return to action this weekend at the 2010 Marlins Classic in Virginia Beach on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan College. CNU will face Rowan University this Friday, September 10 at 5:00 pm and then Kean University on Saturday, September 11 at 5:00 pm.
