FERRUM, VA - Losing less than one game per match, Christopher Newport's women's tennis team improved to 15-1 with a 9-0 victory Saturday afternoon over the winless Ferrum Panthers.

The Captains' Nos. 2-4 players, Marion Gloor, Kim Morrissett and Erin Spinks, all won 6-0, 6-0 in singles. No. 1 Morgan Huff and No. 5 Melisande Downs lost just one game apiece, and No. 6 Dani Cribb won by default.

In doubles, which opened the program, Huff and Gloor won 8-0, Spinks and Morrissett won 8-3 and Cribb and Downs won 8-1.

CNU returns to play at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in a home match against USA South rival Shenandoah.
