NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Their record now at 15-0, the CNU women's basketball saw their stock in the national polls rise again this week. Meanwhile, Chelsie Schweers received another national honor this week. She was named to the d3hoops.com Team of the Week for the second time this month.

The Captains jumped from No. 21 to No. 13 in the USA Today/ESPN poll, and from No. 20 to No. 15 in the rankings of d3hoops.com.

It all came after another big week for CNU which began with an 84-29 thumping of N.C., Wesleyan Wednesday at the Freeman Center. But the most important games came over the weekend as the Captains went on the road to defeat the second and third place teams in the USA South. Saturday CNU topped third place Averett, 76-58, and then Sunday second place Ferrum was the victim, 74-60.

The d3hoops.com Team of the Week honors five players from across the nation for their play during the previous week. Schweers averaged 23.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and shot 59.5 percent from the floor during CNU's three games.

This week CNU has two home games, meeting Methodist Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Greensboro Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
