NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Old Dominion’s Toby Fanselow and Ben Chomette edged Christopher Newport’s Eric Shulman and Gian Heyer 8-6 to win the Monarch Collegiate Invitational doubles at ODU.

Shulman, a sophomore, and Heyer, a Swiss making his Captains debut, upended teams from Norfolk State, ODU and VCU to reach the title match.

These are the first individual victories in recent memory by a CNU representative against ODU or VCU, two of the top teams in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Co-captain Lorenzo Sison and Ricky Connor won two matches for the Captains, as did co-captain Dylan Young and freshman Robbie Wagner.
