New Research Shows Birch Fastest And Youngest Volleyball Coach To Reach 200 Wins

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport volleyball coach Lindsay Birch became the youngest coach to reach 200 wins in NCAA history. Birch also holds the distinction of reaching 200 victories faster than any other coach in NCAA history, doing so in 266 career games.
Last fall, Birch captured her 200th win in the semifinals of the USA South Conference Tournament this past fall. With CNU's win in the USA South Conference Championship, she now stands at 201 wins in her seven seasons at the helm.
Stacy Boudreau at Wisconsin-Whitewater, is the second youngest coach to reach the milestone. At age 30, Boudreau is 211-63.
Birch, 29 years old, has led her squad to five appearances in the NCAA Tournament, including the program's first ever post season win in 2007. She has tied or won outright, the USA South regular season title six times and won the conference tournament title five times.
She has also been named the USA South Coach of the Year four times and won the honor at the State level twice. Birch is 201-65 (.756) in her seven seasons.
