FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Three Christopher Newport basketball players took home All-Conference honors, the USA South announced Wednesday.

Senior guard Davon Barton and junior center Mark Blasingame were named First Team All-Conference.

Barton, a Hampton, VA native, is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game. Barton leads the Captains in assists with 162 and steals with 29. He is shooting 43% from the field, 33% from behind the arc and 76% from the free throw line. Barton was also named to the All-Sportsmanship squad.

Blasingame, a Roanoke Rapids, NC native and a graduate of Grafton (VA) High School, is third on the team in scoring, averaging 11.6 points per game.  He's averaging a double-double, pulling down 10 rebounds per outing and leads CNU with 91 blocks. He's shooting 61% from the floor and 60% from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Mike Green was named Second Team All-Conference. The Norfolk, VA native leads Christopher Newport in scoring, averaging 14.3 points. He's shooting 53% from the field and 69% from the free throw line while averaging seven rebounds per contest.

Averett's Jonathon Rumley was named the USA South's Player of the Year. His teammate Kenny Hart took home Rookie of the Year honors and Averett Head Coach Jimmy Allen was named Coach of the Year.
