MARTINSVILLE, Va. - The CNU women's soccer team scored two goals in a span of just over two minutes midway through the second half and went on to a 2-1 victory over Methodist, earning the USA South championship and an automatic NCAA bid.

The Monarchs got on the board in the 59th minute on a goal by Danielle Minichello, but Kendall Dishaw evened the count on a diving shot off a corner kick by Elise Haug in the 64th minute.

Just 2:11 later Haug split the defense off a pass by Emily Chesbro to net the winner for the Captains.

CNU out-shot the Bishops, 13-7, and goalie Dineen Sampson recorded one save.

Haug was named the tournament's MVP and was joined on the all-tournament team by Sampson, Tiffany Van Decker, Sam Ciaravino and Chesbro.

CNU will learn its NCAA opponent and site Monday.
