NEWPORT NEWS, VA- Ten members of the Christopher Newport football squad were honored today by the USA South Athletic Conference. The league released its annual postseason all-conference awards
Three Captains, senior Trevor Wagner (DL) and juniors Adrin Diggs (LB) and Kenneth Hall (OL), were named to the first team.
Four CNU players, seniors Tunde Ogun (RB) and Jay Kirland (LB) as well as junior Ryan Wever (S) and sophomore Matthew Bourne (P), were selected to the second team.
Senior Patrick Green (OL) and junior Kyle Krupp (DL) were honorable mention selections. Junior Jason Addie (WR) was named to the all-sportsmanship team.
Christopher Newport concluded its season last Saturday with a 5-5 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the conference. CNU football has compiled a record of 62-32 (.660) over the first nine seasons of play, and the Captains have never posted a losing record.
