GLEN ALLEN, Va. – The Christopher Newport golf team fired a four-over-par 292 to take an eight-shot lead in the first round of the Ted Keller Memorial Golf Tournament Saturday at the Hunting Hawk Golf Course.

CNU had three of the top five individual scores as it took an eight-shot lead over Roanoke and nine shots over Bridgewater.

Ben Culotta and Joe Evans fired even-par 72s. Chris Olson was at 73 and Chris Martin shot a 75.

The tournament concludes Sunday.
