SKILLMAN, NJ – Christopher Newport men’s tennis head coach Rush Cole was recognized by the ITA as the Atlantic-South Region’s Coach of the Year.
Cole led his squad to a program best 20 wins. He also led his team to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. CNU also won its first NCAA match, a 9-0 win over St. Joseph’s (NY) before falling to 8th-ranked Williams in the second round.
Cole was also named the USA South’s Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his 12 years at the helm.
He will head to Lewiston, ME next week where John Mook will compete in singles and Mook and Eddie Glidewell will compete in doubles.
