NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport University will be the host school for the 2008 NCAA South/Southeast Cross Country Regional Championship on November 10th.
The event will be run on the campus of Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg, VA and it is the first time CNU has hosted the event since 1998. CNU has also hosted the national championship twice. At stake will be two automatic qualifiers to the national championships in Northfield, MN along with consideration for the 16 at-large berths. The top seven individual finishers not on a team selected for nationals will also receive an invitation to run at the title meet.
Centre College's men and Emory University's women will defend their titles as CNU will look to move up from their 9th place (men) and 6th place (women) finishes.
The women will race at 11 am followed by the men at 12 pm. Further information can be found on the Championship Website.
