Softball Heads To Methodist For NCAA Regionals
NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport’s softball squad will head to Fayetteville, NC this week to play in the NCAA Tournament.
The Captains, who are the number two seed in the Fayetteville Regional, will take on number seven Neumann, Thursday at 2 pm. The tournament will be held on the campus of Methodist University.
CNU enters play with an overall record of 33-8-1. Christopher Newport won the USA South Conference Tournament without dropping a game. Neumann won the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference title for the second time in three seasons. The Knights head into NCAA play with a record of 27-12.
Lynchburg is the regional’s number one seed and will meet the winner of No. 4 Emory/No. 5 LaGrange. Host team Methodist is the third seed and will meet No. 6 Ursinus.
